Bounce

Definition:
A bounce occurs when a visitor lands on a page and leaves without engaging further,  typically defined as a single-page session with no interaction.

Why it matters:
High bounce rates may indicate a disconnect between ad promise and landing page content, or technical issues affecting engagement.

Examples of bounces:

  • Clicks without scroll or clicks

  • Immediate exits before content loads

  • Visits without triggering any tracked events

Best practices:

  • Optimize page speed and clarity

  • Align messaging between ad and landing page

  • Use event tracking to capture subtle engagement (scrolls, hover, etc.)
